Now, it is well known that any correction in etds/etcs return is not possible without consolidated FVU. With the help of Regular FVU, correction in e-tds/e-tcs return can not be done. No doubt that the system is complicated to get consolidated fvu and then submit correction return but there are lot of benefit. NSDL has provided a good idea in this regard and updated consolidated fvu accordingly. Earlier there was no lock to update challan detail after its booked status or Provisional Booked Status. Now consolidated fvu file after using update mode in challan sheet, allow to edit only those columns which are editable and locked those columns which are not editable. In case status of challan is "Booked" or "Provisional Booked", correction in section code, Interest and Others can only be done in challan sheet. Pictures view for more clarity is also below below.
For Booked challan/Provisional Booked challan, update is allowed only for Section Code, Interest (19) and Others(20)
Check the status of the challan at TIN website (www.tin-nsdl.com) before updating the same. Do not update the challan if the challan is in booked (matched) status.
