Do's and Don'ts applicable to CG Employees :-.
Do not speculate in any stock, share or other investment.

Do not purchase shares out of the quota reserved for friends and associates of Directors of companies.

Do not bid at any auction of property where such auction is arranged by your own officers.

Do not bring any political influence in matters pretaining to your service

Do not accept award of monetary benefits instituted by private trusts/ Foundations , etc.

Issue of Duplicate Service Book(Rule 257 of GFR-2005)

The service book of a government servant shall be maintained in duplicate. First copy shall be retained and maintained by the Head of the Office and the second copy should be given to the
government servant.

In January every year, the Govt. servant shall hand over his copy to his office for updation, which should be returned within thirty days of its receipt.
Fee for duplicate to the Govt. servant is Rs.500.

1st January falls on Sundays or Holidays :-
If a Government servant is not able join posts in a particular grade pay on promotion / appointment on 1st of January of a year due to 1st of January falling on a Sunday or Gazetted holiday.

It is clarified that the Government servants who join posts on the 1st working day of the year will be treated to have completed 6 months of service on 1st of July of that year for the purpose of granting them annual increment on that day.
Read more... How to calculate Increment :-
As per Rule No.13 of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, On promotion an employee will get one increment equal to three per cent of his basic pay (Pay in the pay band + Grade pay).

“In the case of calculation of increments under the revised pay structure, paise should be ignored, but any amount of a rupee or more should be rounded off to next multiple of 10.

To illustrate, if the amount of increment comes to Rs.1900.70 paise, then the amount will be rounded off to Rs.1900; if the amount of increment works out to be Rs.1901, then it will be rounded off to Rs.1910.”

Change of Hometown Address :-
The hometown once declared and accepted by the controlling officer shall be treated as final.

Though, there is a chance in a lifetime to change the Hometown address in service records with submiting the appropriate documents. Generally, once declared his hometown address by an employee, it is initially may be accepted. But, a detailed check may be applied only when he seeks a change.

In exceptional circumstances, the Head of the Department or if the Government servant himself is the Head of the Department, the Administrative Ministry, may authorise a change in such declaration provided that such a change shall not be made more than once during the service of a Government servant.

Eligibility ;- Any employee with one year of continous service on the date of journey performed by him/her family is eligible.

An employee appointed on 31.12.2010 will be eligible for the two-year block 2010-11(2010-11 and 2012-13), but those appointed on or after 1.1.2011, will not be eligible for that block year.
