LTC to J & K by Air–Economy class only

The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) referred their  O.M.  No.31011/2/2003- Estt. (A) dated the 18.6.2010 and instructed that  as per   Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) clarification,  for the purpose of LTC by Air Travel, the term ‘Entitled class” mentioned in para 1(ii) of the above quoted O.M. refers to “Economy class” only. Therefore, the DOPT has decided that all LTC claims for travel by air may accordingly be restricted to LTC-80 Economy class air fare of Air India with effect from 25.08.2011.  It has been further decided that past cases already settled will not be re-opened.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject:- CCS(LTC) Rules, 1988-Relaxation for travel by air to visit J&K.
           The undersigned is directed to refer to the O.M. of even number dated the 18.6.2010 and to state that the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) have clarified that the term ‘Entitled class” mentioned in para 1(ii) of the above quoted O.M. refers to “Economy class” only. All LTC claims for travel by air may accordingly be restricted to LTC-80 Economy class air fare of Air India from the date of issue of this Office Memorandum.
2. Past cases already settled will not be re-opened.
